| Royksopp on tour with Sennheiser Evolution |
After taking the dance scene by storm with the release of their 1 million selling debut 'Melody AM' at the end of 2001, Royksopp have continued from strength to strength. 2003 saw them play Glastonbury for the first time and this year they made a triumphant return to the festival to play the 'sunset' slot on the Other Stage. A stunning second album 'The Understanding' was released in July and their performance could well be a contender for 2005's best.
Royksopp are due to finish their UK tour late October before embarking on their European leg and are using an extensive array of Sennheiser evolution microphones. These include wireless ew500 G2 handhelds on vocals, wired e840s on keyboard vocal position, and ew300 G2 IEMs.
Monitor Engineer Bernard Maiquez says: "The G2 IEMs are particularly user-friendly and have performed perfectly throughout the tour. The same has to be said for the G2 wireless handhelds which are well suited to the band's performance. Pa Walsh, FOH Engineer, also adds: "The band is quite choosy with their keyboards, preferring the sound-manipulation and warmth of earlier models. We tried a number of mics on the Vocoda and the e840 outshone the others. Its full frequency response gave us a much fatter sound to work with."
