| Shayne Ward Flies with Sennheiser |
 |

Shayne Ward has just finished his tour around some of the UK's largest arenas in support of his platinum-selling second album, 'Breathless'. And two important pieces of equipment accompanying the winner of the 2005 series of The X Factor were his Sennheiser SKM 935 wireless microphone and ew 300 IEM G2 in ear monitoring system.
Nick Warren has been front of house engineer for Ward since the singer won Britain's highest profile talent show two and a half years ago.
"I've used the SKM 935 since it came out," he explained. "Sennheiser have always given me things to try out, and the 935 is a great sounding mic with good feedback rejection. I use them all the time. I always give them to people who've never tried them before and I haven't had a disappointed person yet. They're great mics."
Warren wasn't the only fan of the microphone on tour.
"Shayne was using another mic, but when he tried the SKM 935 he instantly liked it better. He loves the sound of it in his ears," continued Warren. "From my point of view you shove the fader up, wind the high pass filter in and off you go. No messing about. Which to me is worth its weight in gold."
Ward also became a fan of his new ew 300 IEM G2 in ear system.
"Everyone knows that Sennheiser in ear monitors sound better than the competition," insisted Warren. "Shayne loves it. The audio quality of the in ears is definitely better than what he was using before. The thing is, he's found where the on/off button is. He's proper old school. He switches it off when he's not using it, which makes us all panic."
Both the wireless mic and in ear monitors came into their own during one of the concert's nightly highlights when Ward flew across the audience on a wire from the stage to the front of house position.
"It was fine," promised Warren. "The RF has been rock solid. No problems whatsoever. The 935 has great feedback rejection and everyone's using line arrays now, which are a lot better for that kind of thing. It's scarily easy to be honest. Obviously we have to put a lanyard around the mic and his hand in case he drops the 935 on the head of some young girl.
"I've used Sennheiser for years," he continued. "The e 901 kick drum mic is a fantastic product. I take it on every tour I do. It's one of those products; you push up the fader, you don't do anything, and it sounds great."
