The British summer has so far lived up to it soggy reputation, but that hasn't stopped Sennheiser UK bringing a little sunshine to UK shores by supporting bands and hire company Britannia Row at some of London's biggest musical events.

The two-day Hard Rock Calling Festival took place in London's Hyde Park on the last weekend of June. The Police headlined the Sunday with Sting using a Sennheiser e 865 wireless mic for his vocals.

"It's always good to turn up to a major televised or festival show and see that Sennheiser are there to support you," enthused Ian Newton, monitor engineer for The Police, "especially in such a potentially difficult RF environment as Hyde Park. Even though the equipment behaved smoothly, the added support, if and when it's required, is invaluable."

The very next week Sennheiser and Britannia Row were back in Hyde Park for a special concert by Jack Johnson, immediately followed by the first of four days of the O2 Wireless Festival. Johnson chose a Neumann KMS 105 for his vocal duties, while at the O2 Wireless festival artists like Mark Ronson and The Goo Goo Dolls used SKM 935 radio mics and SKM 5200s with KK 104 heads respectively.

At all the Hyde Park concerts Britannia Row used Sennheiser equipment, with artists and hosts employing a selection of EM 550 and SKM 935 radio mics, SKM 5200 presenter mics and ew 300 G2 IEM wireless monitors.

Bryan Grant, Managing Director of Britannia Row, was, as always, more than satisfied with the performance of Sennheiser's equipment and on-site personnel.

"We've been working closely with Sennheiser on these multi-band, multimedia events for many years now," he explained. "Mark Saunders, Dave Hawker and their entire team have become an invaluable part of our whole audio crew for each event and their hands on approach means that their equipment is used to its best advantage."
