BCM 705 - The first dynamic Neumann microphone

The BCM 705 is presented at PLASA 2005 and is a special new addition to the Neumann Broadcast Line. This is the first dynamic microphone to be produced in the 77-year history of the renowned Berlin microphone manufacturer.

The housing design is identical to that of the already well-established BCM 104, however the green logo indicates that the capsule features technology used by Neumann for the first time. The dynamic capsule with a hypercardioid directional characteristic has been especially designed for speech reproduction at close range. Multi-level isolation from structure-borne noise ensures operation free of interference, even in a lively studio environment.

Like the BCM 104, the BCM 705 has an exceptionally high convenience factor, which has been repeatedly highlighted by numerous users. This includes features such as integrated pop protection, elastic capsule suspension, and a bayonet mount facilitating easy headgrille replacement.

The unique, functionally optimized design simultaneously lends an absolutely distinctive, modern appearance to the Broadcast Line microphones.

Wolfgang Fraissinet, President of Marketing/Sales of Neumann Berlin, explains: "The new BCM 705, with its dynamic capsule, has a unique profile. Due to the price range, in many cases it offers an interesting alternative to prevailing standards."
