West Yorkshire Playhouse Invest in Sennheiser 3000 Series Radio
21.04.2005 Sennheiser U.K

The West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds has recently upgraded is radio mic systems with the purchase of Sennheiser 3000 Series from Bradford-based Pro Audio Systems.

The system comprises 12 x Sennheiser 3000 series radio mic systems consisting of 6 x 3532-U dual receivers, 12 x SK3063 belt-pack transmitters and 2 x SKM3072 hand-held mics. This was augmented with an ASA3000 splitter and active antennae and included in the purchase were a number of MKE-2's for stock. The complete system was custom racked and wired by Pro Audio Systems and supplied with S-MCD3000HP monitoring software, which is being run via the multicore.

Discussing the purchase, West Yorkshire Playhouse Head of Sound, Glen Massam, said, "At the WYP we continually strive to produce the best in theatre which means using the best audio equipment available. For us, that meant Sennheiser for radio and microphone quality and reliability".

Dave Simpson of Pro Audio Systems also added, "As we have a large number of Sennheiser radio systems in hire stock, we are fully aware of their capabilities, using them in high profile multi-channel events on a regular basis. With this in mind, we were more than happy to specify the Sennheiser systems and be fully confident in their ability. In the event of The Playhouse requiring additional systems for larger shows, we are able to augment them with our own 3000 series systems and also link in with the PC monitoring software. The frequency plan was also designed with our hire systems in mind, with the option of operating in excess of 48-channels together".

This supply of radio mic equipment further strengthens the relationship between the West Yorkshire Playhouse and Pro Audio Systems, which goes back to 1990 when the Playhouse was first opened.
