| Announcement of Sennheiser SNG 100 Communications Headset |
The SNG (Sennheiser Noisegard™ Ground Vehicle) 100 product is Sennheiser’s contribution to the advance of technology for active noise reduction / hearing protection and communications in armored vehicles. The SNG 100 is based on Sennheiser’s successful and TSO approved line of Noisegard™ Active Noise Reduction (ANR) headsets for air transport, commercial and general aviation applications. The headset interfaces with standard vehicle intercom systems and the DH-132 liner and hard-shell protective helmet, and can be tailored for other helmet interfaces.
The SNG 100 is undergoing environmental and performance proof testing in the first quarter of 2002. The product will be available for customer demonstration mid 2002. Features and specifications of the SNG 100 include
|
| | 25-40 dB of passive and active attenuation across the audible band
| | active noise reduction circuits powered by 24 V vehicle power interface
| | 3 position push-to-talk switch located on the earcup
| | talk-through-helmet communication provides clearly audible stereo reception outside the vehicle while wearing the helmet, powered by normal or rechargeable batteries
| | Sennheiser comfort and high fidelity audio quality
| | pre-qualified M175 noise canceling electret microphone interface
| | in qualification to MIL-STD-461E (electromagnetic emissions and susceptibility)
| | in qualification to MIL-STD-810F (environmental considerations) |
Sennheiser Noisegard™ is the standard for Active (ANR) and Passive Noise Reduction and hearing protection. Engineered for performance and reliability, Sennheiser alone retains design authority and manufacturing control of electro-acoustic elements that optimize noise rejection and speech clarity. The benefits of using ANR include
|
| | improved mission effectiveness
| | clear and reliable first-time communications
| | reduced personnel stress and fatigue
| | hearing loss prevention |
