Jackson Browne performs at NAMM 2002
25.01.2002 Old Lyme, Connecticut
Roots rocker Jackson Browne performs at Sennheiser's fourth annual dealer appreciation party at NAMM 2002.

Legendary songwriter and performer Jackson Browne entertained over 600 of Sennheiser's closest friends at the Galaxy Theater, Santa Ana, California, during NAMM 2002 with a two-hour show. Sennheiser hosted the five-hour party to celebrate their successful evolution series of products, which covers everything from headphones to microphones to wireless systems - all at an impressive price-to-performance ratio. Browne and his full band energized the crowd with hits spanning his thirty-year career, many of which can be heard on his 1997 greatest hits collection, "The Next Voice You Hear." Highlights included "Running on Empty" and a standing-ovation encore of "Somebody's Baby."

Of course, all Sennheiser brands were represented in the evening's sound reinforcement system. While Browne used the Neumann KMS 105 mic and band members the evolution 835 and 865 mics, all were using Sennheiser evolution 300 system in ear monitors with Future Sonics model EM3 universal fit monitor earphones. An Innova SON Compact digital console tied them all together with total instant recall and ample on-board processing. A DAS loudspeaker system ultimately delivered the evening's music to the wildly receptive crowd. The system included four ST 112 speakers flown four per side; four ST 218 subs and two of the new self-powered Compact 1s as side fills. All amplification was provided by Chevin.

"Jackson Browne demonstrated what an amazing performer he is," said Greg Beebe, Sennheiser's MI/SR Channel Manager. "Everyone was blown away by his catalog of great songs and by the skill and artistry of his performance. It was a truly great two-hour set that none of us will forget."

Opening the show for Browne was Charlotte Martin and Rascall Flatts. Both used evolution wired and wireless systems.
