Sennheiser introduces HMD series of boomsets for broadcast/reporting, talkback and intercom applications.
Responding to the call for high fidelity, flexible and competitively priced boomsets in the visual media industry, Sennheiser introduces the HMD 280 and the HMD 281 boomsets. Both feature a lightweight, ergonomically designed 102dB SPL headphone monitoring system, which attenuates ambient noise by 32dB via a closed-back, circumaural design. Both also share a super-cardioid microphone mounted on a flexible, acoustically isolated boom. The considerable earpiece attenuation, coupled with low structure-borne noise and high microphone directivity, ensures reliable communications even in noisy production environments.
The difference between the models is that the HMD 280 has two earpieces while the HMD 281 has only one earpiece. The choice between them depends on the application. The stereo HMD 280 will find its greatest use with rental companies, ENG personnel, live presenters, reporters, and intercom operators. A single cable carries monitoring and talkback signals for simplified, tangle-free use. Users can mount the microphone boom from either earpiece, and the unit collapses for convenient, space-conscious transport.
The dedicated, single-earpiece HMD 281 will find its greatest use in talkback applications with TV and film camera operators. Users can wear the earpiece on either side.
Both units share the same easily replaceable, premium components and exceptional performance. An 8Hz to 25kHz earpiece frequency response ensures critical monitoring, while the noise-compensating microphone delivers a voice-critical 50Hz to 13kHz response.
The HMD 280 lists at $249.95 and the HMD 281 lists at $219.95. Both have the fidelity, flexibility, and ruggedness for high quality, long-term professional use.
