Sennheiser launches the world´s first digital Tourguide System

The Sennheiser TourGuide 2020-D is an innovative wireless system designed for guided tours in factories, museums, city tours, and any activity that involves speaking to a group of listeners. Until now, all such systems were analogue, and Sennheiser has introduced the world's first system to operate with digital transmission.

Digital transmission is insensitive to interference from outside sources, and the resulting increase in audio quality is a major benefit in noisy factories or busy streets.

And TourGuide 2020-D operation is extremely straightforward. The receivers will automatically turn on when worn, and return to 'standby' mode when removed. Individual visitors can adjust their own volume at the receiver, and a simple switch selects the guide's transmission channel. The LC Display shows the battery level, channel ident number, and volume level. At 65 grams including batteries, the receiver is lightweight, comfortable and being wireless, is hands free.

The belt-pack transmitter has two audio inputs which allows an additional CD or MP3 line source. If the guide wishes to transmit only the external audio file, he can mute his microphone with a separate switch.

The transport case holds the transmitter with up to 20 receivers, and also acts as a charging unit operating at 90 - 240VAC , 50-60Hz. By presetting a single receiver, the innovative charger will set the channel on all receivers by simply pressing a 'Copy' button. Three hours of charging guarantees at least 8 hours of continuous operation.
