Sennheiser nominated for German Future Award

Rolf Meyer, President Marketing and Sales, and Dr. Wolfgang Niehoff, Director of Research at Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG, have been nominated for the German President's "Deutscher Zukunftspreis 2003" (German Future Award 2003) for the concept of the GuidePort visitor information system.

Awarded annually by the German Federal President, the Future Award celebrates outstanding achievements in technology and innovation and presents them to a wider audience.  Four projects are nominated each year for the prize; they reflect the diversity of scientific endeavour and innovative skills in Germany.  The judges for the German Future Award have short-listed "Liquid crystals for television screens", "PRE-SAFE vehicle occupant preventative safety system", "Field cages for cells" — and the GuidePort visitor information system.

"I am very proud that two Sennheiser colleagues have been nominated for this award," said Professor Dr. Jörg Sennheiser, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG. The Award will be presented by the German President in the Berlin "Deutsches Technikmuseum" on November 13, 2003.  The Award winners are chosen immediately before the presentation ceremony.
