Sennheiser First Choice Winners For Brit Awards

Sennheiser was again the first choice of the award-winners at this year's Brit Awards with users Franz Ferdinand, Keane, Joss Stone and Scissor Sisters taking more than half of the awards alone.

Held on the 9th February, the 2005 Brits biggest winners were Scissor Sisters, who won three awards for Best International Act, Best International Newcomer and Best International Album.

Franz Ferdinand received two Brit Awards, winning Best Rock Act and Best British Band, dedicating their Best British Band gong to the late John Peel. They were one of three acts to win a pair of awards at the show in London's Earl's Court.

Keane took Best Breakthrough Act, plus one of the biggest prizes of the night, Best Album for Hopes & Fears and teenage star Joss Stone also won a pair, taking home Best Urban Act and Best British Female.

2005 was the 4th consecutive year for collaboration on the Brit Awards for Sennheiser with Sound Designer Derrick Zieba, who explained, "From the outset Sennheiser have provided faultless radio and would go out of their way to accommodate the artists choice of mic, whatever the brand. Their mics would always be offered but never forced on anyone and their technical support team are second to none". He continued, "As well as the majority of the award-winning performers using Sennheiser evolution wired and wireless and 5000 series radio, evolution G2 300 IEM Series in-ear monitoring was used almost exclusively and all presenters used Sennheiser mics".

Britannia Row Productions provided the PA equipment and crew with Hand Held Audio and Sennheiser UK supplying the mic and radio systems. Sennheiser's chief engineer, Andy Lillywhite, was also on hand for technical support throughout the event.
