| TEC Award for Sennheiser’s NET 1 network system |
| 10.10.2007 Wedemark/New York |
The NET 1 network system from audio specialist Sennheiser won the award in the wireless technology category at last weekend’s 23rd TEC Awards in New York.
The Mix Foundation in America presents the Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Awards in recognition of outstanding achievement in technological and artistic fields. The award for NET 1 is in honour of a network system that can manage and control wireless monitoring systems as well as wireless microphones — a world first.
The TEC Awards are made each year by the Mix Foundation for Excellence in Audio, a public benefit corporation formed in 1990 by the publishers of leading American recording magazine “Mix”. Outstanding products and creative achievements are nominated by a panel of experts and then voted on by subscribers of Mix. Proceeds from the awards ceremony go to projects to prevent noise-induced hearing loss and audio grants to leading colleges and universities — so far the Foundation has endowed more than half a million dollars for these programmes.
Meanwhile Sennheiser was celebrating twice over because its subsidiary, Georg Neumann GmbH, Berlin, also received one of the much sought-after awards: the KMS 104 vocal microphone won in the mic technology/sound reinforcement category.
The Sennheiser Group is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of microphones, headphones and wireless transmission systems. A family firm established in 1945 and based in Wedemark, near Hannover, the company recorded sales of over 356 million euros in 2006, 82% of which was generated abroad.
