PX 100 & PX 200: Sound on the Move
25.09.2002 Wedemark

Fans of portable music have until now had to be satisfied with a sound quality that was inferior to that of their home audio system. But help is now at hand. Sennheiser, the headphones specialist, has developed a range of high-quality mini-headphones that combine wearing comfort with excellent sound quality – and which become even smaller when folded away.

Music anywhere, anytime – with the
new PX 100 and PX 200

Digital technology has made tremendous advances in recent years. MD, MP3 and CD players have brought about a genuine sound revolution in the portable music segment. But in most cases, these high-tech players come equipped with nothing more than a simple pair of "earplug" headphones. To rectify this situation, Sennheiser has now developed two top-quality mini-headphones for all those who no longer want to miss out on genuine sound quality from their CD, MP3 and MD players. The excellent acoustic properties of the PX 100 and PX 200 models even make them ideally suited for home audio systems.

With a frequency response of 15 – 27,000 Hz for the dynamic open PX 100 and 10 – 21,000 Hz for the dynamic closed PX 200, the two new models offer outstanding performance in the mini-headphones segment. The PX 100 and the PX 200 have a particularly precise sound reproduction with a total harmonic distortion of less than 0.1 %.

Sennheiser has also come up with a special trick for carrying and storing the headphones: they can simply be folded away and kept in a sturdy carrying case. They may be giants when it comes to sound but when folded they even fit into your shirt pocket! A tough steel headband with metal joints and steel-reinforced end pieces guarantees the necessary stability in all positions – whether folded or unfolded.

The PX 100 has a particularly well-balanced and precise sound image, making it predestined to become an all-round favourite. Whether your preference is pop, jazz or classical music, these headphones are the ideal choice. The PX 200 has a special bass tube that makes the bass sounds even crisper, making it the perfect companion for all modern music styles. And to ensure that you can really enjoy the sound, special attention has been paid to noise isolation. The closed design and the comfortable leatherette ring ear pads guarantee listening pleasure that is not disturbed by surrounding noise.

Both headphones are available from November.

As one of the world's leading manufacturers of microphones, headphon es and wireless transmission systems, the Sennheiser Group with its headquarters in Wedemark near Hanover, Germany, had total sales of over €227 million in 2001. The export share is 82%. Sennheiser has a total workforce of approx. 1,500 employees, of whom 800 are employed in Germany. Sennheiser is active worldwide and, in addition to other partnerships, has its own sales subsidiaries in France, the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, China, Singapore, Canada, Mexico and the USA.
