Audio specialist Sennheiser has extended its successful evolution wireless series with a system for wind instruments. The SK 100 G2 instrument transmitter, the EM 100 G2 rack-mount receiver and the e 908 T-ew microphone are combined in the new ew 182 G2 Instrument Set — a flexible and powerful wireless solution for trumpet, trombone, saxophone or flugelhorn. The limited edition ew 182 G2 also includes the practical CC2 carrying case. The system is presented for the first time at the Frankfurt prolight+sound as part of the company’s “50 Years of Sennheiser Wireless Microphones” anniversary program.

“Our customers have been asking us for a complete wireless solution for wind instruments,” says Martin Fischer, Product Manager for the music industry at Sennheiser. “The individual components that are required for such a solution — the transmitter, receiver and microphone — already exist, and now we are presenting them as the ew 182 G2 Instrument Set at the prolight+sound. They are packaged in a durable carrying case and are available in a limited edition.” |
The SK 100 G2 instrument transmitter and the EM 100 G2 receiver are immediately operational due to 4 presets on each of the 9 channel banks. The e 908 T-ew condenser microphone produces an extraordinarily vibrant and clear sound, whose frequency response of 40-20,000Hz has been optimized for wind instruments such as trumpet, trombone, saxophone and flugelhorn. The provided clip fixes the microphone to a wind instrument in a moment, and it also has a flexible microphone boom, which allows the quick and precise alignment of the cardioid microphone with the instrument. Operation is straightforward — the Frequency Scan function automatically searches for free receiver channels. The user can monitor the status on the backlit LCD display and can control it via the user-friendly menu.
“This system is the perfect addition to our broad evolution range,” says Martin Fischer. “We are very pleased to present the set as a special edition at the prolight+sound, especially as we are celebrating 50 years of Sennheiser wireless technology.”
The ew 182 G2 Instrument Set will be available from mid-April.
