Sennheiser at IBC 2004 Introducing the worlds finest professional stage microphones

Accompanying the official launch at PLASA 2004 in London, Sennheiser will show its complete evolution e 900 Series of wired stage microphones at IBC in Amsterdam.  The e 900 Series microphones include two professional vocal mics, the e 935 and the e 945, plus a wide range of new instrument microphones for the complete backline.

All 900 Series microphones feature powerful transparent sound, are highly insensitive to handling noise and have excellent transient response and feedback rejection.  Stephan Scherthan, Product Manager for Wired Microphones: "What started about eighteen months ago with the launch of the e 935 and e 945 vocal microphones plus the e 903 instrument mic has now been extended to a complete range for every conceivable performance requirement.  The overwhelmingly positive reaction to the first three models has shown us that this newly developed top series has become the standard with sound engineers and artists.  They will be thrilled by the new evolution e 900 models too."

e 900 Series Microphones
Designed to withstand the rigors of touring, the cardioid e 935 and super-cardioid e 945 cut through the mix easily and provide a high gain before feedback.  Their sound is smooth, natural and warm.  They have been optimized for the stage, with a presence boost to improve vocal intelligibility.

The evolution 900 Series instrument microphones cover any performance requirement.  With its wide frequency response and fast attack times, the e 901 condenser boundary microphone is ideal for miking kick drums and grand pianos.  It features a "semi"-cardioid pick-up pattern and a shock-absorbing rubber base.  The e 901 is extremely rugged and step-resistant, with a built-in XLR connector.

The frequency response of the e 902 has been optimized for very low frequencies, making this cardioid dynamic microphone an ideal choice for kick drums, bass guitar amps, tuba and other low-frequency instruments.  The grille of the rugged microphone is made from hardened steel. The e 902 features a high maximum SPL, and comes with an integral stand mount - no separate mic clamp required.

The cardioid e 904 is designed specially for drums (especially toms and snare drums) and percussion.  Its very compact design allows a positioning very close to the drum skin.  It comes complete with drum clip.

With a high maximum SPL and fast transient response, the dynamic e 905 is an all-rounder suitable for a wide range of instruments, and an ideal choice for the snare drum, where the short mic body allows it to be positioned close to the drum skin.  It features a slight treble boost and an excellent transient response.  The cardioid e 905 comes with integral mounting clamp.

The super-cardioid e 906 is designed specially for guitar amps but is also excellent for percussion and brass instruments.  The flat-profile mic has a lively, full sound.  The frequency response can be switched in three steps (flat, slight drop at 4 kHz or a stronger decrease at 4 kHz).

The e 908 condenser microphone comes in two variants.  The e 908B is ideal for brass instruments where it delivers a lively, clear sound, while an integral shock absorber eliminates handling noise.  Due to its flexible boom and the clip supplied, it can be positioned optimally at the sound source.  The microphone includes an intelligent pre-amp with a multi-function LED for cable, phantom power & level check.  The e 908D has all the features of the B variant but is supplied with a dedicated clip for use with drums and percussion instruments.

The e 914 condenser microphone is designed for cymbals, hi-hats, overhead miking, choirs, and orchestras.  It has an exceptionally lively, clear sound and is able to handle high sound pressure levels.  The e 914 is fitted with a sensitivity switch and a bass roll-off switch and features a modular design, which allows the capsule to be changed.
