New Structures for Strong Growth
In response to strong worldwide growth, audio specialist Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG, Wedemark has adapted its marketing and sales structures. Sennheiser Nordic will be launched on 1 January 2006, enabling the company to provide even better service for its customers in Scandinavia. In a move to boost the efficiency of its European sales organisation, Sennheiser is amalgamating its subsidiaries in northern and western Europe to form one group as from June 2005.
Sennheiser Nordic will largely replace the independent business partners who have represented Sennheiser in Scandinavia in the past. As from 2006, this will provide customers in Denmark, Finland and Norway with even closer ties to Sennheiser; the Sennheiser business in Sweden will still be handled by the independent partner Sennheiser AB, Stockholm until September 30, 2007. "Setting up our own subsidiary permits closer cooperation with the end customers," explains Rolf Meyer, President Marketing and Sales of Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG. "It provides them with direct access to top products, services and comprehensive consulting support for audio projects of all kinds. This will enable Sennheiser to respond much faster and significantly more efficiently to the needs of its customers." Designated managing director of Sennheiser Nordic is Paul Whiting, currently Managing Director of the subsidiary Sennheiser UK. Sennheiser Nordic will be based in Copenhagen.
The formation of Sennheiser Nordic will also lead to restructuring of Marketing and Sales. The subsidiaries in northern and western Europe - Sennheiser Nordic, Sennheiser Netherlands, Sennheiser Belux, Sennheiser UK and Sennheiser France - will be combined to form one group, which will also be managed by Paul Whiting, reporting to Rolf Meyer. "This move will enable Sennheiser to maintain and improve its decision-making process on the executive level in a rapidly widening worldwide business environment," stated Paul Whiting. "It will also improve the integration of functions on regional levels to increase the efficiency of our use of resources."
As one of the world´s leading manufacturers of microphones, headphones and wireless transmission systems, the Sennheiser Group with its headquarters in Wedemark near Hanover, Germany, had total sales of over €237 million in 2003. The export share is about 80%. Sennheiser has a total workforce of approx. 1,600 employees, of whom 60% are employed in Germany. Sennheiser is active worldwide and, in addition to other partnerships, has its own sales subsidiaries in France, the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, China, Singapore, Canada, Mexico and the USA.
